DAY NURSERY FEES (FROM 1 APRIL 2025)
At Berkhampstead, we know how important it is to understand exactly what you’re paying for. That’s why we’re always open and transparent about our fees — no surprises, just clear information to help you plan with confidence.
Our fee sheet lays everything out simply, showing how costs vary depending on your child’s sessions and any Early Years Funding you receive. It’s designed to help you make the best decision for your family’s needs.

EARLY YEARS FUNDING
At Berkhampstead Day Nurseries, we’re proud to offer both 15 and 30 hours of Early Years Funding (EYF) for eligible families. We understand how important it is for childcare support to work flexibly around your family, which is why we “stretch” the funding across all 51 weeks of the year. This means that instead of being limited to term time, your child’s funded hours are spread evenly, helping you benefit from support throughout the whole year.
For children accessing 15 hours of funding, this equates to 11.18 funded hours each week, and for those eligible for 30 hours, 22.35 funded hours per week are applied to your account across the year.
To help us maintain the outstanding quality of care and experiences that Berkhampstead is known for, we offer Agreed Additional Services. Families who choose to opt in enjoy a range of extras that go beyond the Government’s basic funding, including freshly prepared meals and snacks, creative and consumable materials, and a wide variety of specialist-led sessions such as French, Music, forest school, and visits to our school’s Early Years facilities. These experiences enrich your child’s time with us and support every aspect of their early development.
Please note that any discounts (such as sibling or full-time attendance discounts) are applied only to the unfunded and additional services portions of fees, not to the Government-funded hours. Funding is shown clearly on your monthly invoices, and our friendly team is always happy to explain how it works.

WHEN DO I NEED TO PAY?
Fees are charged a month in advance and must be paid by the 10th of the month. You will receive your bill via email on the 25th of each month. For example:
For September Day Nursery fees, you would be invoiced on 25th August, with payment due by 10th September.
WHAT IF I NEED AN OCCASIONAL EXTRA SESSION?
We can offer extra sessions, subject to availability, often at short notice. However, to guarantee a place, we recommend giving as much notice as possible.
CAN I CHANGE SESSIONS?
Yes, you can request changes, but we ask for 8 weeks’ notice for any alterations or cancellations. Please let the office know by email or letter.
New starters are also required to provide 8 weeks’ notice if they wish to delay their start date or reduce their booking pattern.
